Six people were cited during an occupant protection checkpoint conducted by the Caddo Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

The checkpoint took place at Old Mansfield Road near Keithville-Keatchie Road. Eighty-one (81) southbound vehicles were checked, and six citations were issued to drivers for failing to buckle up or not properly securing their children.

The checkpoint was part of the ongoing national initiative “Click it or Ticket,” which aims to bring attention to the importance of seatbelt usage. More local operations are expected before the campaign concludes on June 2.
